Psalm 91:1
1 He that dwelleth in the
secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

  • Because Believers are “in-Christ,” the secret place place here is “IN GOD.”

  • Also, the secret place is “IN GOD’S PRESENCE.”

  • Practically speaking, the secret place of God’s divine protection is the BELIEVER’S TRUST IN GOD’s WORD and HIS FAITHFULNESS.

Psalm 91:2
2 I will
SAY of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

  • Master Key: I WILL SAY

  • the Believer’s trust should ultimately be in what Jesus has done

  • OUR TRUST MUST BE VERBALIZED!

  • Saying is the KEY to the manifestation of every promise in Psalm 91, because FAITH is released by the words of our mouth.

Psalm 91:3
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

  • “Snare of the fowler” means every satanic trap

  • “Noisome pestilence” means diseases and epidemics

  • Believers are delivered from satanic attacks, diseases, and epidemics

Psalm 91:4
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his
truth shall be thy shield and buckler

  • Truth” here means God’s faithfulness to keep His Word

  • Even when you make mistakes and sin, trust God’s faithfulness because it is not your faithfulness that is your shield and buckler—it is God’s faithfulness!

  • God is faithful to us, even when we are not faithful.

  • Our divine protection is based on God’s faithfulness!

Psalm 91:5-6
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the
terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6 nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

  • These verses promise 24 HOUR PROTECTION!

  • “Terror by night” means the evil that comes through men

    • Here God is saying that He shall protect us from kidnapping, robbery, rape, home invasions, pedophilia, murder, violence, incest, shootings, abuse, terrorism, etc.

  • “Arrow that flies by day” means any intentional attack from the enemy that he throws against your soul, body, finances, etc.

  • “Destruction that wastes at noonday” means any intentional attack from the enemy that he throws against your soul, body, finances, etc.

  • We are not to be afraid because God promises to protect us!

Psalm 91:7-10
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand;
but it shall not come nigh thee. 8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10 there shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

  • Though destructive and harmful things could be going on around you, you should be SAYING, “BUT IT SHALL NOT COME NEAR ME! NO EVIL SHALL BEFALL ME!”

Psalm 91:11-12
11 For he shall give his
angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.

  • As opposed to saying what men are doing around you, say what the angels are doing.

Psalm 91:13-14
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou
trample under feet. Say, I walk in the authority of Jesus Christ, and all demon hosts are under my feet. 14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

  • Say, “I walk in the authority of Jesus Christ, and all demon hosts are under my feet.”

  • Say, “God loves me. He has delivered me and set me above all forms of evil!”

Psalm 91:15
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him:
I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

  • If we put our trust in God’s Word and obey, there are many things that we will not experience.

  • God has promised us that God is going to be with us in the trouble AND HE DELIVERS me out of trouble.

  • If you are in trouble right now, you should be saying, “I AM DELIVERED OUT OF TROUBLE!”

Psalm 91:16
16 With
long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

  • You should NOT be saying, “I hope I can make it this age.”

  • Say, “I experience God’s full salvation!”
