Where can I be baptized?

It is not necessary that you be baptized at a church. It is not about the building or location, but the spiritual experience. In fact, Jesus got baptized in a river. You can be baptized wherever there’s water—a pool, lake, or jacuzzi—even a bathtub!

What do I need to be baptized?

  • A dark t-shirt and dark pants or shorts.

  • Towel

  • Head gear-swim cap or headband (if applicable)

  • Swim shoes or flip flops (if applicable)

Who can baptize me?

Nowhere in the Bible does it say that a pastor or minister must baptize you. Any believer who has been baptized can baptize someone! Before you are submerged in water, the person baptizing says, “Because of your profession of faith in Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” Please read the Baptizing Instructions below.

Now what?

This is an amazing moment, which signifies the end of your old life (submersion into water) and beginning of your new life (coming up out of the water). So, take photos and videos, and enjoy time with your family and friends! Be sure to complete the baptism form for each person baptized to let us know about your baptism.

We would love to celebrate with you!

BAPTIZING INSTRUCTIONS

Congratulations!

You are taking a major step in your spiritual journey. We are honored to partner with you!

Parents: you can be the baptizer for your child or teenager! If you have given your life to Christ and have been baptized, you are fully qualified and equipped to baptize your child.  What a privilege and honor it is for us to partner with you in the spiritual oversight and stewardship of your child/teenager.

Here are some tips for baptism that will assist you:

If you are the candidate being baptized:

  1. Step into the water

  2. Turn with your back to the water

  3. Cross your arms across your chest.

  4. Have Baptizer pinch your nose

  5. Hold your breath

  6. Allow Baptizer to submerge you into the water and bring you back up out of the water

  7. Exit water

  8. Celebrate!

If you are the Baptizer:

  1. Assist the candidate into the water

  2. Instruct them to cross both arms across their chests

  3. Place one arm in the small of their back and with the other hand pinch their nose closed

  4. Ask them to hold their breath

  5. Plant one foot in a steady stance as you lean them back to submerge them into the water and pull them back up

  6. As you submerge them, make this declaration: “I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.”

  7. Assist them out of the water.

  8. Celebrate!

That is it! You did it! Enjoy this wonderful moment with family and friends! Please text Faith Chapel to 94000 to let us know about your baptism! We want to celebrate with you!
